Strengthening the super premium wheat flour market, Sriboga Flour Mill embraces SMEs

PT Sriboga Flour Mill is committed to encouraging the development of small and medium enterprises (UKM), especially in the field of bakery and processed food, in order to have competitiveness and increase their income.

One of them is by holding a baking demo entitled Sriboga Bakery & Pastries Fiesta with the theme "Bakery Innovation & Digital Smartpreneur" at the Grand Dafam Signature Hotel, Surabaya, Saturday (27/7/2019).

Sales Operations & Support Manager of PT Sriboga Flour Mill, Panca Indria Pristiawan said, apart from the recipe for making cakes or bakeries, what the public needs to pay attention to is the selection of wheat flour, given the many types and uses.

"We educate from the basics because the flour has a high protein selection must also be precise, for example, which one is for donuts, pizza, cake, pastries, etc. We educate it to be precise and have more selling value," he said on the sidelines of the event. Sriboga Bakery & Pastries Fiesta.

On that occasion, his party also re-introduced products in the super-premium segment produced by PT Sriboga Flour Mill, namely Hime (special flour for making bread), and Double Zero (special flour for making pastries). In this event, these two products were applied to the demo of making Chicken Croissant Cheese (Chickcrocheese), Jhon Puff Pastry, Salted Egg Chicken Pao, Cheese Brownies, and Klepon Cake.

According to Panca, Super Premium flour has many advantages which are able to make the product smoother and of higher quality, resulting in a smoother, whiter and softer product.

"This activity is expected that bakery industry players and UKM in the field of a bakery can take advantage of the Super Premium class flours as superior raw materials to produce quality business products," said Panca.

General Manager of PT Sriboga Flour Mill, Rike Sundari added, with the application of super-premium products, it is hoped that it will raise the image and competitiveness of business actors because the products are of higher quality and increase the market segment so that the price can also be higher.

"And we see that currently there are many modern UKM players who understand quality materials for their products, including in East Java. That's why we are here in Surabaya and Malang for this activity," he explained.

Rike added, although the segment in this super-premium product is considered a niche market or not too big, this year it has grown significantly, as evidenced by its sales which this year has grown by around 10 percent compared to last year.

"For Sriboga Flour Mill itself, currently the largest product sales composition is still in the premium segment, around 50 percent, medium and low segments around 40 percent and 10 percent super-premium," said Rike, who said Sriboga's current production was around 300,000 tons per year.

For this reason, in penetrating the market in the super-premium segment, education, applications, and services provided also need special attention.

"That's why we also present a digital business speaker from Google My Business, to share information with guests regarding the ways and benefits of registering their business on the Google search engine, so that they can be seen and increase sales online," said Rike.

Meanwhile, at the Sriboga Bakery & Pastries Fiesta in Surabaya, there were around 250 invitations from bakery & UKM, horeca, startup, and household businesses.

Sriboga presented Chef Deny Panca and Chef Dwi Winarno from Sriboga Customer Center (SCC) Surabaya, Chef Riyandi Suherman from SCC Jakarta, along with main sponsor chefs such as Chef Garry from Filma, Chef Ade from Emina Cheese who demonstrated a variety of interesting applications using Super Premium class flour by making Chicken Croissant Cheese (Chickcrocheese), Jhon Puff Pastry, Salted Egg Chicken Pao, Cheese Brownies, and Klepon Cake.

Surabaya itself is the second city for the Grand Baking Demo Sriboga Bakery & Pastries Fiesta, after previously conducting roadshows in Semarang, and will be present in 8 other big cities, including Tegal, Bandung, Jakarta, Malang, Solo, Denpasar, Purwokerto, and Yogyakarta.
